What are SVG files?
An SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) is a drawing made of mathematical paths rather than pixels. Because the shape is described by lines and curves, you can scale a design from a pocket-sized decal to a 24-inch door hanger and the edges stay perfectly crisp. That is exactly what a cutting machine needs: the blade follows those paths.
SVG cut files work in Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio (Designer Edition for direct SVG import, or DXF on the free edition), Brother ScanNCut, Glowforge and design programs like Inkscape and Adobe Illustrator. Upload the file, size it, and cut it on vinyl, iron-on, cardstock, wood or leather.
Every file on FreeSVGShop is free to download — no account, no email, no credit system. Start with our guide to using SVG files, or read what an SVG file is in plain English and how to upload SVG files to Cricut Design Space.
